Heavy’s Axis Power Craps First Seminar of Summer

June 21 – 23, 2019

Yes, it’s Heavy’s FIRST Vegas Seminar of 2019 and it just happens to fall on the first weekend of SUMMER! June is when things really start to HEAT UP in Las Vegas. The pools and dayclubs are packed, and when the sun goes down, the clubs stay busy all night long. As for the craps scene? Some nights the dice are so hot they damn near melt. Our advice? Pack some sun screen. Not that you’ll spend much time out by the pool, but you might have to walk across the parking lot to your rental car sometime, and that Vegas sun sizzles.

DarthN8r and I will get this party started with a meet and greet get-together Friday evening, followed by a pre-seminar “play ’em as you see ’em” live session. Guests are welcome so bring your wife, husband, significant other, or best bud. We have nothing to hide. When we hit the tables later you may see us on the Dark side, a hybrid strategy like One Hit – Can’t Miss, or jumping in with both feet on the Right side. It all depends on how we see the dice performing. And we can pretty much assure you that you can watch Darth and I and learn something about betting (even if it’s what NOT to do). However it works out – this session won’t go all night long. Saturday morning comes early and we have a full day of craps training planned for you at that secret location on the golf course with the million dollar view of Vegas. On the agenda for this class:

* Best Dice Sets – V-2, V-3, X-6, HW, S-6, P-6, Mutants
* Best Dice Grips – One Finger, Three Finger, Front, Diagonal, Pincer, Ice Tong
* Best Toss Technique – Backhand, Underhand, High Arc, Low Arc, Low Rev, High Rev
* Landing Zones – Where and Why
* Alternate Positions – SL-One is Not the Only Spot at the Table
* Best Right Side Betting Strategies to Get the Money
* Precision Shooting from the Dark Side
* Round Table Discussion and Open Table Time

We’ll squeeze a lunch in there somewhere but any way you look at it this is going to be a full day. In prior classes we’ve also played a live session after the dice control training session but before we got into the betting material. All decisions on live sessions on seminar days will be made on location and will depend on the class size, playing conditions, and the consensus of the players involved.

Sunday morning we’ll hook up once again at the secret location with the million dollar view for one more toss tweak and a strategy session for the live casino play we have planned for the day. You’ll play a minimum of two live casino session with the coaches. These sessions are planned to be played in different casinos with each session lasting 60 – 90 minutes, however the actual length of the session may vary depending upon on-site conditions. Additionally, on many occasions we’ll end up staying on a hot table for 2 – 3 hours. In those instances we will consider the two planned sessions to have been played without a break between them. We MAY at our discretion play additional sessions after the officially planned class sessions are over. However, those sessions will be simple “hook up sessions” and are not a part of the class itself. Yes, that’s right folks. Here at Axis Power Craps the coaches have nothing to hide. We actually go to the tables with you and play a live session with you.

What’s the pricing on this weekend’s events? Here’s how it shakes out.

  • Getting Out of Your Rut

A few years back I cranked up a “get out of your rut” series on the Axis Power Craps forum. The idea behind the article was simple enough. If you’re continuing to do the same old thing at the tables year after year and you’re not getting the kind...

  • Knowing When to Walk Away

Quick, without thinking – when is the best time to end your craps session? If you said “while you’re ahead” I like your thinking. Of course, then you have to decide just how MUCH you have to be ahead before you pull the plug. But that is where session...

  • Heavy’s “Back in Balance” Play

Back about ten years ago I developed a betting strategy based on the observation that the craps table is always trying to stay “in balance” with the probability universe. In other words – Do decisions and Don’t decisions always work to balance out over the long run. You could...

  • Dice Control versus Card Counting

What’s the difference in craps and blackjack? Ignoring the obvious, one is a dice game and one is a card game, there are a lot of differences in craps and blackjack – just as there are a lot of similarities. But there’s one major difference. A skilled dice influencer...

  • Being the Star of Your Own Show

After 15 years of teaching other players the do’s and don’ts of craps it’s become apparent to me that we all live our lives more or less like actors in a play. There are good guys and bad buys, winners and losers, supporting characters and character actors. Depending on...

Prop bets. Gamblers love them. So do the casinos. That’s why they have the stick man hawking them like a carnival barker. Despite the occasional large pay outs on these bets the house cleans up on them. Let’s take a tour of the prop box and I’ll show you...

  • The Luck Factor

Are some players really luckier than others, or does it just seem that way? Psychologists at Stanford University say “good luck” and success in life usually stems from certain attitudes. • The Come Out Game

In the seminars I do around the country I talk about the fact that there are two distinct sides of the game. The first side is the Come Out game. The second side is the Point Cycle game. New players generally don’t recognize this. Their approach to the game...

  • When Craps Turns to Crap

Let’s face it. It happens to all of us. For one reason or another, skills we’ve developed at home don’t make the transition to the casino. Blame it on variance, bad luck, or something you ate for dinner – sometimes the correct craps play is no craps play. So...
